: : Anyone who professes to have the "answer to everything" is close-minded to everyone else's answers to everything.
: Bart, I kind of see this attitude in you. Whenever anyone disagrees with you, one of the first sentences in your reply is "You are wrong. You are not able to _________ (fill in blank) logically."
I neither said nor implied that about Daniel. He is incredibly annoying, but I would not say that he's done anything illogical so far. My beef with his message here is that it's pretentious and it ignores other points of view.
I, personally, do not profess any particular point of view on the divine being. I neither assert nor deny its existence, and I do not assert anything about its nature. But I have some beliefs about it, and Daniel's post contradicts those beliefs in a condescending manner. It also contradicts the beliefs of any Jew or Christian reading the post, and of anyone else who has any beliefs about a divine being that differ from Daniel's. The fact that Daniel presented his point of view as if it were the only valid one is a signal to everyone who believes differently from him - "I am objectively right, and your puny point of view is patently, objectively wrong."
Daniel's phrasing was intolerant of everyone else, and that's why I dislike it. I do not believe that it was illogical.
Here's how his post could have been phrased so that it would not be offensive:
: Subject line: Use your intuition to re-cognize a Divine Being!!!
Subject line: My view of a Divine Being!!!
: As a 4w5 I am appealing to all you intuitive types and perhaps intuitive/logical types to check out this website that contains photos of and written Teachings by the Sovereign Avatar, Adi Da Samraj. An american born living Spiritual Master of the Ultimate degree!
I feel that Adi Da Samraj is truly the Soverign Avatar (here Daniel would explain exactly what he means by that). I consider him an American born living spiritual master of the ultimate degree. (capitals S, M, and U removed - I'm not sure, maybe the capitals mean something to him and they have a reason to be there other than to indicate importance, but I'm guessing not) Check out this website, which contains Adi Da Samraj's writings and photos, and tell me what you think!
www.adidam.org
: Just please spend some time contemplating His photos and His written Teachings and see if you don't intuit or re-cognize something very profound and moving!!
(entire sentence deleted - I see no way to rephrase this without the condescending pretentiousness. The whole thing seems to be condescending pretentiousness)
: Try it!
: And let me know.
: love daniel
Try it!
And let me know.
love daniel
