#### I always believe that every experience is useful to us even if we do not like it. I also think one should try to steer in a direction where the previous knowledge and experience gained can be an asset. For one example, you could be a very credible sci fi writer with your background. You might also be able to write popular journal articles on science without all of the jargon or design children science books for educational purposes or buy a video and practice making science documentaries for TV. What you need to do is set yourself a goal of where you would like to be in 5 years time and then work out what skills and experiences you need to get there. If your passion is strong enough, it will find a way. Emoot's suggestion of local theatre is an excellent one. Keep your science job until you can readily earn a living from some other way that is more to your liking and until then, live for the weekends!! (Type 7's exist that way all the time!) Sharlee
