: i'd like to pursue this thought more, as i find the differences between the 4/5 and 4/3 to be striking, (hence my irritation at those who claim to strongly "identify" with both wings: don't we all identify with all nine types? any similarities i've seen seem to be superficial), but i have very little time tonight. i want to continue this when i return monday, though, if anyone is interested.
I don't "have a dog in this fight" so to speak. I have very little in the way of 3 attributes. I wish I had more. It seems that it would lead to better people skills. I also have a pretty laid-back attitude towards money and material possesions in general. It probably wouldn't hurt if I took more interest in these areas. My wife would probably wish this as well.
: let me ask this in response to the title of your post: are you implying that the 4/3 is the distant cousin the "other four", as if the 4/5 is the "real four"? (i realize you use the term "brethren", but i still get the feeling that the four/three is thought of as the faux four) please forgive me if i read into it too much, but that's the way it seems.
Aha, a classic example of one's difficulty in being correctly understood through a "print only" medium. I never considered for a moment that anyone would take offense to this post but I can see where you're coming from. No, I never meant to imply that either 4w3 *or* 4w5 were better or *more 4*. There is however a drastic difference between how we communicate and see things. The more variety, the better. If we're trying to learn more about ourselves *and* others, a blend of types/wings offers the best environment.
: as far as the DEFINITE difference between the two types...michael jackson and prince...there are real similarities. bob dylan and leonard cohen...more real similarities. michael jackson and bob dylan? hard to believe they are the same core type almost. but the wing (and of course health level) makes a MARKED difference.
Interesting that you should pick these people to use as examples of each wing variation. Bob Dylan & Leonard Cohen are music gods in my estimation. While I think that Prince and Michael Jackson are highly talented their music just doesn't move me the way that Cohen's and Dylan's does. Am I correct in assuming that Dylan & Cohen are 4w5's?
: i have a very close friend who is a four/five. we identify with one another very, very much....but as for pursuing goals...he has much less drive and confidence. as for innovation and striking originality in creative works...he is superior.
: he has the loner, unsocial quality...i am able to "work a crowd"...etc, etc, etc.....
: more later....hope there are some comments when i return.
I would say that you painted a pretty accurate picture of me when describing your friend. I don't know about the "innovation and striking origionality" part but I'm generally considered to be an "out of the box" thinker. Don't you just love business-speak? Hell, being a 3'ish sort, you just may.
