At last, we are in agreement. I never argued that a person didn't exercise a great deal of control over their body or mind. I too see myself as the master of my ship and captain of my soul, but my fate/destiny is mostly controlled by my interaction with outside factors. Try as I may, will as I may, curse the powers that be as I may, outside factors, which are ALWAYS in play, limit my ability to achieve "whatever".

PS. In some of the preceding arguments, statements to the effect of; outside forces aside, economics aside, social position aside, etc., which is never the case. All of the above *do* matter, so it's not valid to set them aside and then frame an argument which presupposes their absence.
