a step. How we seek the answer is somewhat revelatory. Do we look in an
independent way. Do we seek consensus. Do we like tests/instruments. Do
we want our type confirmed upon us.

I suggest that you take the highest and next highest scores on any test(s.)
Rule out extremes. Narrow down to Center if possible. Or centerS if not.
Say, for example you could be 5,4 0r 7. Read the descriptions about all
and narrow down again. The next step is LIVE interpersonal interaction
with other Enneatypes of same or different perspectives. Most of us vacilate
and ambivalate about type on occasion. The 5w4 and 4w5 are common on this
BBS. This is STRICTLY my opinion, but, taking one's self typing out to
the human interactive proving ground is the validating (or Invalidating)
experience. Many have reasons (excuses?) for not being able to go to
workshops/seminars: maybe reasons are part of the compulsion. This BBS can
help. Go back and look at various posts. The Tal and Ryan posts are
often classic 5 posts: long, detailed, forensic, etc. Andy has had great
7 posts (IMO.) The 4 board is classic. Do you identify with one or more
versions.

The answer lies within. For some people it is like sexuality. It is
easy or difficult for some people to know their own experience except in
the context of their environment and up-bringing. I think this is very
normal and typical of how we all mature and grow. Looking outside the
"box" is a challenge in itself. Only you can find the answer(s) for
yourself. My suggestion is to look in community; that is a challenge.
One's resistance is part of the puzzle (one's excuses: money, time, distance,
etc.) If you were thirsty, would you seek to quench your thirst? The
question is, how? My answer is: ultimately, with human interaction,
because that is where we live. (Implies acceptance by others.)
I am saying two components: First, Iam a ----, and second, others accept
me as a -------. Both are integral to type. Resistance is a clue either
