When I was a little kiddie, a schoolmate remarked upon the birth of a new baby child: "He's going to live longer than me." He meant, of course, that he would die before the baby would, that the baby would see more of the future than he would. I retorted with hard, cold, clinical logic: "Unless he gets killed first." My teacher said "Don't talk like that."
