: At the risk of sounding judgmental (which some people here should be
used to anyway), I think that Fours are identifiable, even behind their
cyberspace masks, by their picky standards. They overrate normality,
convention, and politeness. Does it make sense?

Yup. 'Nuff said. I don't think I have much to add to that. Though I will say that those "pixelated" expressions are also utilized by the "cute" types: Twos and Nines. Emoticons and even are the cyberequivalent of a hug or giggle sometimes.

>PS - Dear Areia, you sound like a very "social" Four (I'm talking
"Hornevian categories"). I got that impression the first time I recall
you signing yourself ("One o' them crazy Fours"). The key question that
social Fours ask themselves is "Do I measure up?"

Well...I'm not entirely sure if I agree with you or not, but that's because I don't know too much about the Hornevian subtypes (yet). I will say this: my question is less often "Do I measure up?" and more often "Do I surpass?" You might recall the way I feel about Kate Bush. My intense jealousy towards her comes mostly from the fact that she is (for example) called "the Queen of Ethereal Pop." The *Queen*, not the princess or duchess. My strong Three wing drives me to be dissatisfied with "lower" standards, and while this can cause problems, it also means that I rarely get complacent about my position. Since you're a 4w3, I'm interested also if you ever experience this.

>Please, realize that
shame is very much an illusion, but being dissatisfied with your work is
a mark of thrift toward quality. Remember - a lot of those classic
authors were compulsive correctors, and dit it till they died!

Yeah. This is true. At any rate, I think I'm going to drop off of these boards for a little while until I know enough to actually talk. (That's my main problem, I think.) I would really dig talking to you some more, Derf, which we have tried before. So here's my e-mail address. If you'd like, gimme a write: daphnaia@yahoo.com

There's nothing worse than realizing that you're a perfect example of something in your favorite personality typing system.
