Micky - I know EXACTLY what you're talking about! God, it's so good to know there are more people out there that have a problem with this!
I live in a small place where everybody knows everybody, except me 'cause I just moved here - but I don't WANT to know everybody and I most certainly don't want THEM to know me!
I really feel silly in the store, there are only two people working there and they seem to be very curious about who this newcommer (me) is, and it bugs me alot because I don't want them to notice me at all!
And I don't like to talk to my neighbours too much either...I like to be a private person and I like to be able to chose WHO I want to talk with and when. And I often end up saying something totally stupid if people start a small-talk conversation with me. (Like telling them thngs I DON'T want them to know and even reveal intimate information they DIDN'T want to know!)
I guess I come out as looking like a total weirdo, which is OK....I guess...Because I don't care what they think, do I?
