I use clothes to express myself, but don't follow fashion as that wouldn't be being different and I find most of it dull anyway. I only really like going in charity shops because there's so much more variety. Fashion as such, doesn't really exist over here any more. or else it's a thing for young kids. there the ones into designer clothes the 5 - 14 year olds. You can wear practically anything here now. Skirs of any length, narrow or flared, narrow or flared trousers, hipp gear, seventies gear, eighties gear. No one thinks any the less of you. If its extreme you'll just be seen as retro and an interesting fun person. I know a girl who wears fifties clothes and jewellery and I like thirties clothes and art deco jewelery. Mostly I express through colour of clothes - red and burnt orange to show I'm fiery and exotic, lavender to show I'm gentle, lovely textures are very important - velvet, chenille, silk, and hats and scarves gain great respect I've found. I have a several tiger scarves and tiger slippers. My red bra is very important to me, and anything sexy but in an Eastern or gypsyish way, not a Vogue or Elle way. I want to get a Sari for lounging about in. And I love anything long and flowing that makes me feel like a princess.
