Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive Palmer's Four description is terriblePosted by Cory on October 10, 1999 at 17:14:33: In Reply to: Re:I usually do. posted by Tiggy on October 10, 1999 at 16:40:58: She calls for the "tragic romantic", and that's pretty much all she talks about...tragic and romantic. The descriptions didn't seem realistic, they seemed like character stereotypes in fiction. She also mentions hatred of local authority, but respect for kings and queens. For me its the OPPOSITE! I respect local authority like the police, since they are just doing their job, and there's no need to be against them. Kings and Queens are just lucky rich people who I despise. Palmer also listed a Four might like a job as a model...how is that? All you do is walk down a catwalk!!! Why would a Four be happy being accepted only for Looks? One of the reasons why I questioned if I was a four or not, was after reading her book. The Five's description was more like me...and especially the Nine. I have two of Riso-Hudson's books, the main one Personality Types, and then Wisdom of the Ennegram. The descriptions of the Four are very accurate for me. They present the types as more realistic and everyday, instead of the characters Palmer talks about. Also, I think alot of Palmer's famous people are way off. -Cory
