Some of my favorites...

1984 by George Orwell
Animal Farm by George Orwell
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by R.L. Stevenson
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Contact by Carl Sagan
I'm currently reading The Trial by Kafka

I'm not really into fiction anymore. I've been steering into non-fictional philosophy and psychology lately. Regarding fantasy and such, I have a disdain for it...in the bookstore they have whole shelves devoted to that worn-out genre. All the covers look the same. They all have elves or dragons or wizards or buxom warrior princesses in the cover. Not original enough for me.

But for those who don't know 1984, Animal Farm, and Brave New World are all about totalitarian societies. All of them are pesssimistic, since the State wins in the end. Jekyll and Hyde is all about split-personality and leading a double life. Contact is about a message from outer space, but the main theme is about religion vs. science. And The Trial is about an innocent man brought to court, facing unknown charges, and he is eventually thrown in jail for no reason. I also like Poe. These books might hint at my personality type, and it sounds either a 4w5 or a 5w4, so I'm not getting anywhere...
