Yes, but in fact there is no difference between the two halfs when you are born. It is how they develop that makes them different I think.
Well, anyway, I'm a righty, and I don't think lefties are smarter. You can choose which brain half you're using anyway. Trying closing one of your nose holes. Closing the left, will bring oxigen to your left brain half (really, it works crossed!) and closing your right to your right.
