: Cory,
: Just so you know your not alone in the world....
: I can identify with every point you made....
: It helps me to to:
: 1) Trust God....I talk to Jesus every day and lean on Him. He is always there for you.
: Because of my faith in Jesus, I was supernaturally healed of debilitating depression....
: I still have my days.....but I function on a much higher level than I ever have. I hold a job now. I dropped out of a college, due to the depression.

My faith in God is that of an indifferent force in this world. I neither trust nor distrust It, there's nothing to invest trust in! God is a powerful, impersonal force. This is a Five's idea of God, I guess. Religion might offer a way out of my depression, but I'm not willing to surrender my perception of the world which to me feels true, into something I can't believe.

: 2)Act objectively (like a One) and don't go by subjective feelings..
: It helps me if I can "ride out" my emotions....negative emotions are just downward spirals...I try to start thanking God for everything that I DO have.

Easier said than done! Usually when I'm objective, I just repress my feelings as much as possible. I act One-ish...but in an unhealthy matter. I become very critical and spiteful of others because I am deluded with the idea that I, alone know what is Right.

: 3)I still have a lot of discomfort around people...esp. those I don't know..conversation doesn't just "flow" for me. I struggle with shame. But you have to make the effort...4's have based their identity on how they are "different" from everyone else. But we are all human, and we all have things in common. You must remind yourself of this. We just "feel" different; in some ways we are all unique; but there is common ground.

I'm reinforcing this. I just read an article about how this is an ESTJ's world and that the INFP (me) is the scapegoat of it. I think all ESTJ's should be killed....Stalin was an ESTJ. Go figure.

: I hope this helps my friend.

Same here!

-Cory, 4w5 INFP and proud ESTJ-Basher
