Fours and MBTI type

As I understand it, there is no one-to-one correspondance between Enneagram type and MBTI type; at best, there is only a loose correlation. It seems to me that most Fours would be INFP's, but I have a close friend -- a Four -- who is and INTP. I found this very puzzling -- how could a Four, clearly a deeply feeling person, be Thinking according to MBTI? It seems like a contradiction in terms to me. Can anyone shed light on this?

Also, I'd like to know if there are other INTP's out there, and how they reconcile their Fourness with their Thinking.
