Women DO have to make an effort because it's such a competitive market. If I'm dressed in just a slightly hippyish jumper and skirt, and someone else walks by looking stunning in an elegant or trendy outfit, then the blokes will all look at her. Maybe you ARE different. maybe it's a London thing, it's certainly different in the South-West (Devon, Cornwall, Somerset). I know from visiting there, people don't dress up like they do in London, and the Home Counties. I have a very glamorous blonde sister, and I guess I've been affected by that too. she always gets loads of attention from men.

I really appreciate your sentiments because it gives hope to someone like me who doesn't feel they necessarily fit into the stereotypical model of attractiveness. I think I fit more into an Eastern model of attractiveness, and Indian men certainly like me. There isn't a dichotomy between women who pay men attention and women who are glamorous though. Glamorous women pay men just as much attention, so we can't compete there either!

You speak as though you're not an attractive man, but remember we've all seen your photo! I would get rid of the baseball cap though. I expect you've got a very nice smile, but you probably scowl a lot, like me.

I'd go out on a date with you. God, I'm becoming a terrible flirt, aren't I? it's very out of character for me, and the trouble is I really do fancy all the men on here! Normally the men I like are very few and far between, almost negligable. But then there aren't many intellectual men in Essex, it's known for that!

So what type do you think you are now, assuming you saw my last lot of comments on the Yellow board?

See you in Finland some time, I have an urge to go there. Can you rent huts on little islands? I have a picture of one in my atlas. It looks very serene, yet real.
