Hi Jen-Jen,

I'm glad to know what the original post was (I find this message board to be highly disorganized which causes many posts to be overlooked accidentally & etc.). I, too, was wondering if 4s had a propensity for 12th house planets. It makes a lot of sense. That's why when I posted my msg to Jasper I included that my sun, mercury, & venus are in the 12th (placidus houses. In Koch houses, venus is in the 11th). So which planets do you have in the 12th? I am a highly typical 12th house person. Limitations have dotted my existence, not to mention mental illness. But the reason I felt that perhaps 4s would have a propensity for planets in the 12th is because, regardless of the 12th's negative reputation, it's also the house of understanding & transcendence. Limitations motivate (some) people to liberate themselves, and the whole of the chart will tell where/how the individual will do this. I also wondered about squares/oppositions/inconjuncts between the moon and neptune. I have the square. The reason I mention this is because I have done many charts and found these aspects in individuals concerned with personal growth as well as having creative impulses. What do you think?

By the way, astrology bashers don't bother me, as I said in an earlier post. I realized a long time ago that if I was going to speak about astrology to anyone, more often than not I would encounter "bashers". I like to discuss my opinions & likes & dislikes, so I have learned to accept them easily.

If you'd rather email me my addy is: pandora441@hotmail.com

:
: I was the person who orginally posted the question about Astrology, and have sat back silently watching all this debate about astrology vs. "science." I have some responses/reactions.

: First, Cory, ye who trusts "empirical" data as the utlimate authority, please define your terms. What is "empirical" data? I will tell you the ORIGIN of the word empirical, which comes from "empiric": ""one who enters a practice without a regular professional education and the proper experience, ie, a "quack.""

: What is an experiment? Do you truly believe that experiments are not conducted without some subjective bias? Are you aware that experiments repeated sometimes show contradictory results?

: Now, I do not want to be mis-construed as bashing science, quite the contrary. Investigation, testing, and retesting are the fundamentals of science, and what gives "science" its credibility is its willingness to take in, examine, consider and test new information, against its OWN assumptions.

: "Objectivity" and "truth" are concepts that evolve and change through the acqusition of NEW knowledge. Cory... Have you ever read any book about astrology, talked to astrologers? You are dismissing a body of thought (astrology) as "stupid" without first making yourself an expert..(ie, informing yourself) of that which you are dismissing. I would hardly call that an example of an "open" or "evolved" mind.

: I want to draw attention, again, to MY ORIGINAL POST:
: ------------------------------------------------------
: Ok, I have a theory....

: For those of you who have had their chart done, I wonder if you have any planets in the twelfth house????

: I wonder if fours have 12th house propensity.

: Let me know!
: ----------------------------------------------------

: NOW....all the postings (except one) I recieved were from people who wanted to automatically DIS or Berate astrology, without acknowledging or ADDRESSING the real question of post... the whole point of my post WAS THE AQUISTION OF KNOWLEDGE, THE TESTING OF A THEORY by CONDUCTING A SURVEY, IE, A TYPE OF "EXPERIMENT." This is exactly what "scientists" do all the time, folks.

: What would be a sign of a truly open, thinking, curious mind would be to participate in examining the data, asking questions about the theory at hand, SHOWING CURIOUSITY RATHER THAN DISDAIN... rather than automatically dismissing something because it seems "beneath" science or one's own opinions.

: --Jen-Jen

: Sorry guys...
: I will trust empirical psychology over that archaic cryptic pseudo-wisdom known as astrology. I have met a girl born on the same day as me, who was completely unlike me...she was a 7, ESFP, but according to astrology we would be alot alike right?

: Just because you are a four, it does not mean you have to surrender your rationality like a whore giving up her body to a paying customer.

: Cory, 4w5 INFP
