For me, it's a stability-perception tactic...my character shines out so much to the eccentric/unique/quircky/unpredictable/artistic that I don't feel the necessity of anything extraneous that warrants attention..furthermore I want people to focus on my uniqueness...I don't think that fashion renders people individualistic at all. (that's a 4 for you.) So I tend to stick to classic, black, greys and navys.
Besides, I tend to see people who wear bright wacky and patterned clothing as confusing/cluttered/busy peopole. It doesn't let me smooth out the 5 billion things going on in my head and heart, it confuses me.
