That may be true Tiggy - but the sunlight is doing you good even if your thoughts are busy sabotaging you!

And, before you start talking about our celebrated Aussie sunshine as opposed to your reknowned British grey skies, let me add that it works on overcast days as well (although, IME, sunshine is preferable). But it isn't an instant cure - rather, it has an accumulative effect over time.

It also takes some mental discipline to arrest those pesky self-sabotaging thought-processes. One must be committed to overcoming the depression - and that means making conscious choices about what to focus on.

Believe me - I'm not trying to sound like a school marm here. In fact, only the other day I experienced exactly the scenario you posed above - AND caught myself thinking the EXACT same thing...."no one here to share it with me...." Know what I did? I pictured a big, red stop sign - told that particularly ugly 'tape' to piss off - and entertained myself with a 'bubble' about how thoroughly windswept and interesting it was going to be when I'd won the lottery and treated all of Fourdom to our 'convention'! You should have seen us....all the girls in their elegant velvet gowns (you and I were in red, of course:), complete with plunging necklines and to-die-for gorgeous undies....all the guys with their tongues lolling about the place....

Cheered myself up immeasurably - all by using a typical 4 strategy.
And they tells us it's bad for us! I'll show them....
