I don't know much about it, admittedly, maybe it would be an idea to read up on some theories about what prompts people to be into SM. There must be some stuff on the Web; I mean psychological stuff. It might give you some insight.
I have in the past tended to be masochistic, but not sexually, and I think some of that is to do with wanting to externalise feelings of having been treated badly. I would have thought sadism was a kind of projection in the way that violent anger can be.
PS I never commented on your spelling, someone must have put a post in between or something. Some of the posts have been going funny places recently anyway! My comment on punctuation in Karen's post was connected to what she said about feeling she's coming down with something because she couldn't punctuate.(See her post)
