When I was in graduate school at NC State a couple of years ago, some people there were working on "micromachines", small mechanical structures built into silicon chips using standard CMOS manufacturing processes. They did things like rotating mirrors and gears--really neat stuff, though I never worked on it myself. You might want to look them up in, um, 7 or 8 years. :-) - Hal -
