: : : Self Good/Other Good
: : : This type is characterized by irrealistic delusions of happiness, peacefulness, and idealism. Their world is "perfect", and they are "perfect", and everything is just "perfect". Problems are just ignored and swept under the rug, but when problems begin increasing, it puts more of a strain on their minds to be in control and focus on the artifical happiness they created.
: : [Emily] Lesse...type 9
: Ronnie: Well, yes, but see my other comment below.
b.b. Good in theory, not in practice, maybe a seven.
: : [Cory]: Self Good/Other Bad
: : : This type lives by the belief that they alone know what is right. Intense feelings of narcissism, superiority, and having a one-track mind are common symptons of these types. These feelings can also be extended towards a group, in which their "family" has the right philosophy to live, or knows what is best for the world. People of this type may view themselves as heroic martyrs or crusaders.
: : [emily] hmm....definately type 1, and maybe some 3
: Ronnie: plus some 7 and 8, maybe?
: : [cory]: Self Bad/Other Good
: : : This type is plagued with insecurity, low self-esteem, inferiority to others, self-hatred, and even masochism. They may feel they are a burden to others and don't deserve to live. This could be characterized when a parent scolds a child for doing something wrong, and the child is hurt for having let their parent down and accepting it as their fault.
: : [Emily] well, feeling like a burden and "not having needs" sounds Twoish.
: Ronnie: Uh, nah. Remember that pride is the charcteristic vice of the type two, at least I read something like that somewhere. Definitely not a burden, others *need* them (in their own opinion). I'd say this is 4.
b.b. Unfortunately, I would say this is an negative four too! Some of the characteristics we don't like to admit are there.
: : [Cory]: Self Bad/Other Bad
: : : This type rebukes all joy or meaning in the world and in themselves. To them, everything is a seething cauldron of disgust. Extreme nihilism combined with a terrofying vision of having been locked in this world for eternity may drive some to suicide. Anything positive is readily dismissed as "illusion" by these people. Life has lost all value, so why live it?
: : [Emily] By the passion in which you describe this one, I'm guessing you've experienced it. ;) This is Four and mainly Five.
: Sounds like an unhealthy five to me...although I've experienced something like that.
b.b. Sounds like a negative nine all the way...
: So, the nine comment (although I'm not in a pathological state): In my own experience, when I've been under a lot of stress and so on, I really don't start ignoring problems and thinking "Oh, perfect world. Where's my remote?" What I feel is that I know things are wrong, but there's so little energy left to anything. It's easier to start tinkering with something definitely non-essential than do anything about the problem, which really is an obvious one. I start withdrawing from people, because they might bring the problem up. And so on. The main point is that inside my head I don't feel peaceful and calm, it's storming there. Maybe a 9w1 would say something totally else, but for me it's feeling deflated and trying to ignore the problem as to carry on, while knowing something is wrong.
: : So how'd I do Cory (you flaming 5)??? =oD
: : -Emily, 4w5, infp
: Ronnie, 9w8, mdrtr ;)
: b.b. 4w5, infp, scorpio
