If I laughed it would not be out of nervousness, but because I found it funny that someone would look at me like that! In what appears to me to be a mock-suspicious way; ie eyes slightly narrowed, scrutinizing. I would not feel threatened, myself, but think the person had a good sense of humour and quite liked me. But then I'm not most people.
