"Romantic" has nothing to do with "romance"

Flowers, candy, all that crap, easy stuff to give the image of caring when
they have more to do with posession. "Romance-era" literature isn't Fabio-
on-the-cover softcore, it's eighteenth-nineteenth c. literature about
beauty in the world around us, nature, Purity of Essence (just don't
withhold your PoE like the general in "Dr. Strangelove"!). Idealists are
usually romantics, but how many idealists do you know that are competent
in "romance"?
