Okay, you've forced me into it--taking on a role of potential responsibility in a social gathering.

Being from NH and knowledgable about New England, I think you would be crazy not to come here. The mid-south has its beauty as well, but for pure four-ishness New England can't be beat.

Now I'm going to tell you what my imagination is saying, at which time you will gladly assist me with a whack of reality: I picture a small-town setting--you can Always get to a big city within 1 hour form just about everywhere (except maybe Vermont). I'm afraid no one has come up with a real good plan in terms of housing. My dream ideal: someone with a vacation home near the water. There's got to be water! Providence, RI comes to mind as the type of environment that would appeal to people (a lot more so than, like Woburn or something!). Portsmouth, NH is right next to me and is okay, but Portland, ME is even better. I'm thinking coastline more than inland, but some inland New England towns are very charming and I think would again appeal to people. And I keep picturing a damn terrace or something, as if I owned a place. Hmm...maybe I got connections... Something with a mosquito net and the salty smell of the sea. Are we going to rent a place? What do people think about these suggestions?

I like Amanda's itinerary: Noon, wake up; Afternoon, be lazy; Evening, more laziness, a meal perhaps; Nighttime: coffee, scones and lengthy discussion!

All I know for sure is there's got to be tea available or I'll be very unhappy. That's all I'll say for now. Hope to see you.

Julian
