Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive My shot at "question time"Posted by Derf on December 19, 1998 at 19:19:47: I couldn't think of any really interesting questions, so don't start licking your lips just yet. But I hope these questions will generate some kind of revelation, however paltry. (I'm interested in going beyond the surface, and exploring the strange, offbeat, and maybe even disconcerting aspects of Fours, as well as other types - more on that below.) Elaborations, if necessary, are very welcome. Do any of you.... 1. Find gender stereotypes unbearable? 2. Create documentaries, character descriptions, and diplomatic speeches in your head? 3. Have no set sleeping schedule? 4. Worry about the way your voice sounds different on recording? 5. Tune into what others are saying at a distance, or in other rooms, even if you're occupied? After the questions, they usually have the essay section.... (My apologies to those who just got finished with final exams... :) I'd like to clear up the issue about flashy attire, body piercings, exotic scented oils, and other bells and whistles that supposedly make the average Four a human peacock. Are they right? Are they wrong? I have a slight suspicion that observations about Fours, as such, have come mostly from other types. Also, I'd like to hear if anyone who is familiar with the Enneagram has found certain "givens" about this type to be either exaggerated or simply off-whack. (Thanks, Milly, for providing a perfect example in your post a few days ago.) - Derf
