Feel that neither side of your personality (4 or 3, if you're a 4w3, for example) is expressed adequately? A) I have had a hard enough time coming to the conclusion that I am a 4 in the first place!...and to make matters worse, I relate to 4w5 in many more ways than 4w3 - except for the fact that I'm an extrovert - which throws the whole MBTI correlation right out the window (so to speak) as well as the sterotypical ideas of 4ness. I'm a very confused individual who would have to answer - YES - I think! (Does any other 4's out there give inordinatley long answers like this?) : 2. Have pack-rat tendencies? (e.g., you find an old birthday card that someone dropped... or maybe even a shopping list....) A) I'm with Hal on this one - things of my own are of sentimental value and so I hoard them...other people's junk? No. : 3. Love the sound of old recordings (as opposed to your standard audiophile, who demands surround-sound stereo digital recordings)? A) Again, I'm with Hal - maybe because I work in an industry that is on the cutting edge of this kind of technology...but I do love to get new recordings of old albums that I fell in love with over the years - the songs evoke a whole range of memories for me to linger on.... (and to think I ever doubted being a 4!) : 4. Poignantly remember certain strangers that pass you, whom you see for only a few seconds... and then, perhaps even create mental scenarios about them? A) I was STAGGERED to discover that someone else does this too!
A) I'm terrible at remembering names - so I usually call everyone 'pet' - not to demean them in any way, mind you...the term 'pet' is actually from an Australian comedy show skit and most people around here get it...but I've had no end of misunderstandings in conversation with friends from around the world on the net. In my family growing up we all had nicknames. My father's family was notorious for coming up with them. It's also very common in Australia to have a nickname - it sort of shows that you are well known and loved (or at least enjoyed) by your mates. If someone goes to the trouble of inventing one for you - it's usually a sign of favour. : 6. Enjoy taunting people in comical voices? A) Can't say that I enjoy taunting anyone seriously...it's not my style - but in fun? sure.("I fart in your general direction.." Monty Python) Keep the questions coming....it's fun and I'm getting an interesting insight into the way other 4's think - as well as the realisation that there are others out there like me Thanks Derf Amanda :) :
: I was also disconcerted by a post, some time ago, in which a very bold person insisted to a self-described Four that she must be mistaken - that she couldn't possibly be a Four, precisely *because* she didn't look and act like a walking freak show. : That's why I'm looking for a tally, of sorts. How many of you "decorate" yourselves? And please don't get technical or "broad-minded"; I'm sure you know perfectly well what I mean, like it or not. I'm not judging you, I'm just trying to reconcile the popular conception, or, if necessary, separate it from the truth.
