: 1. Find gender stereotypes unbearable?
Not unbearable; just annoying. As we progress as a beings, males are becoming more "in touch" with their feelings and females are breaking the glass ceiling. As I find most of the answers to arguments in demographics, I strongly believe that the Boomers have helped in this arena by giving us a microcosm in which us Gen-X's can observe. The message is simple: in an increasingly two-income based economy, androginy is the one tool that will help us transcend survival and facilitate success.
: 2. Create documentaries, character descriptions, and diplomatic speeches in your head?
Yes. As a child I always anticipated any type of showdown by preparing for any eventuality. When the scheduled time came, the situation always fizzled out, leaving me with a headful of contingencies.
Back then I hated it. Now, it makes me seem like a walking crystal ball!
: 3. Have no set sleeping schedule?
Yes and No. No matter what time I go to sleep, I always wake up at 4:30 am--without an alarm clock.
: 4. Worry about the way your voice sounds different on recording?
I used to. Now, I'm learning to play with it to achieve my objectives.
: 5. Tune into what others are saying at a distance, or in other rooms, even if you're occupied?
Yes. I can't help it.
: I'd like to clear up the issue about flashy attire, body piercings, exotic scented oils, and other bells and whistles that supposedly make the average Four a human peacock.
: Are they right? Are they wrong? I have a slight suspicion that observations about Fours, as such, have come mostly from other types.
If adornment is the Four's claim to fame, I must be an underachiever. As I grow older, I'm concentrating more on accents rather than statements in clothing, fragrance and demeanor.
: Also, I'd like to hear if anyone who is familiar with the Enneagram has found certain "givens" about this type to be either exaggerated or simply off-whack. (Thanks, Milly, for providing a perfect example in your post a few days ago.)
The fact that all Fours are majorly depressed might be off kilter. I strongly believe we're more contemplative than morose.
