Tony Robbins believes that all behavior is created by our tendency to move away from pain and toward pleasure. When we choose to indulge in procrastinating, it's because we feel at some level that DOING whatever will be more painful than NOT doing it. Even though we create some pain be feeling we "should" do it, and there's some pleasure in the thought of the results we'd get if we did do it...what's most real for us is the pain of doing it...and so we put it off until the pain of NOT doing it becomes too much to bear (as in the night before the term-paper's due or whatever).

NLP has many techniques with which one can eradicate this habit. And that's all it is - a simple habit that we form as we are growing up. I don't even think it's linked to personality so much; everyone seems to have this habit (except for the people who really succeed in every area of their lives). School seems to train us to have this behavior.

If you are really seriously committed to getting the results you want out of yourself and your life, you will find a way to overcome this habit. I recommend Tony Robbins' PERSONAL POWER II CD set enthusiastically for this process.
