To pay attention to the former, virtually to the exclusion of the latter (or vice versa), seems to denote a hyperfocus. I think those people who divide their attention equally between the two aspects are potentially more "balanced" or "stable" by social/cultural standards, but they posess no intensive focus in either direction, hence they seem to be the ones with an attention defecit. By the way, I'm a 5w4 and I saw shrinks and their cohorts for over 10 years. I've had many different diagnoses, but ADD or ADHD was never on the list.
