Enneagram Type 5 Board Archive How "I" can a person be?Posted by WingPrayer on July 19, 2000 at 11:36:18: In Reply to: Re: My 2 pennies on the last two posts. posted by Gigi on July 19, 2000 at 04:04:20:
I score O extroverted points on the MB. I think the Egram explains my actions better, though, because with people I am comfortable with, or when there is a topic at hand that interests me, I can act very E-like. However, it takes it's toll. I first wind up overstimulated by interaction and then need a good chunk of down time. I think a lot of time we overlook the I/E difference as where we "recharge our batteries" (in MB terms) I think is how it was explained to me as much as how we appear to function. I hope my response to Becky below explains my position on the process thing. I'll add though, that I find a lot of slippery ground in some of these distinctions. I find a lot of organizational people to be geared to the process without realizing it. They would say otherwise, but it often appears to me to be hung up on organizing for the sake of organizing. I like to engage in problems that I know there will be no solution to, but I do not think this is process oriented. One does not have to summit on Everest fofor the climb to be worthwhile - 100 feet from the peak is a pretty good height! - but the summit is what calls. I find the climb to be worthwhile, but only in light of the top. An aside, I do not much care for "puzzles" or word games 9although crosswords are okay) but I love card games where counting cards comes into play - love the pieces of a probability being laid out, but it is the END, when you see it play out, that is exciting.
