Interesting idea, not sure it holds though...
I'm an INTP and I'm always running to reference things and I seem to get a good deal of my information from books rather than the environment. On the other hand, my referencing tends to be to verify something I read previously and to knit it together with information from other places. Still, I'd imagine that's what most INTP's or J's do, but who knows? What are other peoples experiences, mostly from books or mostly from the environment?
