Thank you for assuring me I have not been the only one who reacted to stress in the same way.

ALso, although only up till the last two years or so, I too also have found a way to work out problem solving in my dreams.

I used to think we were helpless to do anything in our dreams ( because that was what I was taught). But until I learned more about psychology, and until I decided that I was going to experiment and instead of just sitting back and "letting" the dream "happen" to me - that I instead was goind to be pro- active ( not reactive) and instead "concsiously" and forwardly take positive steps to act differently and instead change what would be going on in my dreams and make it wokr more in my favor than not.

It works too. But it's also a "habit" that needs "concsious" pro-active change too. It doesn't come automatic to pro-act in a wya tha makes the dream trun out more positive for me because I'm so used to "reacting" passively and unthinking ( that is not considering how my reactions contribute to create more positive consequences for me).

Once again, thank you for letting me know my old habitual reaction to stress was not alone confined to just me in the world.

Friends,
Margaret

: : I slept during the day and was wide awake at night.

: : I used to like the night better because I felt more comfortable and less invaded and intruded.

: : (I was also the only woman who was a night owl wherever I went.)

:
: : But the night always felt so comfortable and peaceful, and the early mornings too.

: : No one could see me

: : The night always felt safer
:
: : And when the daytime came I got tired and couldn't stay awake

: : I sought safety from people's emotional negativity at night when they were sleeping.

: : It works at times when I need it.

: : My question is - has anyone else ever experience a sleep, tired, awake time change directly porportionate to as well as a direct instant reaction to the amount of stress that goes on in one's life?

: : Or am I the only one here?

: Forgive me for editing your post, it was the easiest way to highlight the points I have felt myself. Most of my life, I have done my best think/work at night. Several years back, at a time in my life when I didn't have to work in the outside world, I, too would sleep during the day and do my research at night. I lived in a very small seaside town where it was perfectly safe to walk around the village at all hours. I loved it!

: To answer your question, I do experience a change directly proportionate to the amount of stress in my life. I also have a tendency for lucid dreaming and find that when asleep I can usually solve the problems causing stress. The benefit of problem solving with lucid dreams is that you're not limited to solutions that could only work in the "real" world.
: It doesn't seem to matter that the solutions are "fantasic", somehow it still reduces the stress and brings a clarity that allows for subsequent "real world solutions".
