: : How's everybody doing?

: : So, here's a question: I think type 1 is generally associated with being obsessive-compulsive but I wonder how many type 5s have some tendencies this way. I have one little quirk... list making. I think it has to do with INTP "Architect" thought processes but every once in a while... when I haven't done any database work or logic problems for a while... I find myself sitting with a pad of paper making lists. Lists of what you may ask... names usually.... of people, places, businesses not relevant to anything and sometimes just nonsense. Maybe it has to do with memory. Is that a weird quirk or what?

: : How bout it? Anyone else have an obsessive-compulsive freakish quality to them?

: I've started to realise that the minute I walk into my home I switch to 5 immediately. Very lazy about housework (messy rather than filthy)- only tidy up when I am expecting company. Hate unannounced intrusions, turn the phone off. Don't you dare buzz me on the intercom if we hadn't made arrangements!

: I go through stages where I start "organising" (I use that term veeeery loosely) things into piles. At the moment there is a pile of (about four) magazines next to the television, another pile next to the couch, and another in the bedroom. Each pile is pretty similar in its composition - a music magazine, a glossy and some trashy weeklies, so it's not like they're divided ino categories or anything.

: I have a slightly bizarre living arrangement - I rent from a friend, and he seems to have trouble understanding that it's not okay to let himself in whenever he wants to get something, drop something off, whatever...I live "around" all of his stuff, as he can never quite get his shit together to move stuff out. He makes a bit of an effort every now and then, so he can feel like he has done something about it, but it never really gets beyond symbolic stage.

: I of course freak out when I find he has let himself in. Two pairs of shoes sit in the middle of the living room, another pair abandoned in the kitchen, more near the end of the bed. I'm proud to say that some actually make it to the wardrobe, but this probably means I don't wear them very often (my very practical fluffy mules, for instance).

: This all probably has something to do with my 7 wing, as well, I suspect now that I am thinking about it...why would a 5 own fluffy mules? Oh hell, why would anyone own them!

: Anyway...lists...I have lots of them. Three different notepads at any one time, my tax receipts are being kept in that many locations as well (at least). It's sort of about laziness. I don't go back and find the old list and carry on from where I left off, I just start a new one. And I never refer to lists either. I just make them to go through the mental process of working out what I need to do. It's not uncommon for me to make a shopping list and then not take it shopping. Or to take it with me and just leave it in my purse.

: And then get the shits and have a little 8 tanty when I realise I've forgotten half the stuff I needed to buy!

: I keep a journal. Well, of course, this is really several journals - a book, a word document, and tyhen acouple of other word documents with titles like "Observations", "Dreams", "Homework", "Fiction" (yeah, right) and so on.

: My vision of the perfect post-it-note pad is shaped like an octagon with a whole lot of sub-pads coming off the sides.

:
: I'm thinking this is all looking very 7, but it all happens when I am in my "closed down" 5 state.

Actually, I'm thinking it sounds very TP... what's your MB type?
