Nines do have true convictions, and when you find one of their true convictions they won't back down. But they also tend to want to see all sides of a question, so when you engage them, instead of automatically defending their own position, simply because it is their own position, they will consider another position, this does not mean that they have accepted your position. A healthy nine, after considering your side of the argument, will either accept or reject your position. An unhealthy nine will assume that nothing he can say will change anything so he won't try (that doesn't mean that he's accepted your argument).
