: I remember one of Jungs cases and am interested in your 3 year analysis.Jung had a patient whom he suspected of having heart disease so he sent him to a specialist. The specialist pronounced him AOK and he left the docs office with a glowing favorable physical report in his hand. : Right out of the doctors office the man had a massive heart attack and died on the spot. This is not the tidbit. : The tidbit is the following. the mans wife was already nervous. Why? Because birds were congretating on the roof. When her grandmother died birds congregated on the roof. The same thing happened when her mother died. Now it was happening again(before she was actually informedof her husbands death : Jung tried to give some sort of explanation of the psycho-physical parallelism in terms of archetypal imagry. He believed when an archeype (and consequently and archetypal image) is constellated you get these synchronistic phenomenon. In archetypal symbolisim. A bird is a symbol of the soul. You get this idea through comparative mythology. There is a hatian myth that when a man dies his soul escapes from his mouth in the form of a bird. The Ancient Egyptians stated one of the forms of the soul caled BA was symbolized by a bird. In christian symvbolism you have the Holy Ghost symbolized by a dove. Any thoughts on this subject?
