In my article on point one i describedone of my patients a woman from Mississippi raised in the bible belt wh use dto come to my Pharmacy only for one medication. Prozac 20mg daily for depression. This woman seemed to be vey much an Enneagram one and when I had her read a chapter in Risos book she agreed with this. As a One shifts to four under strss and depression (four as ego melancholy) is one prominant aspect of point four I tried t corrlate the pharmacological action of Prozac with enneagram neurochemistry. Prozac prevents the reuptake of the neurotransmitter Serotonin in the synapses (connections between) the nerve cells. If a one undergoing a depression is ennagram wise behaving like (and hence neurochemically similar to) a four perhaps one aspect of point four behaviour is a relative deficiency of serotonin in the nerve cell synapses.
Prozac and the related SSRIs (selective Serotonin Reuptake inhibitors ) are freqently use dnowadays t treat obsessive compulsive behavior and bulemia both conditons being seen often in fours. Possibly Point four behavior may directly involve Serotonin
PMS (pardon my misspellings
