It's probably better to get into the depth of what you percieve your type to be, rather look to see if you've moved to a different point. I sense that you assume that by 5 moving to 8 they become more bossy and dictatorial. Not at all. That's taking on the traits of the connecting point at an average or below level.

5 going to 8 means that they move out into the world and use their knowledge and vast abilities to observe, think, and be objectively perceptive. It means that they move from being a passive recipient of life's experiences into a participant. It means that they have found confidence in their personal,emotional, and interpersonal boundaries so they aren't overwhelmed by the world and others.

Does this sound more like you now?
