The american society is globaly a three oriented culture where everything has got to be "politically correct" and mentioning the dark side of things sounds scary and uncorrect. While here in Europe, we are used to call a cat "a cat" and enjoy real discussions and some disagreement. Europeans can even be quite passionate when discussing, it is a normal way of being. At least it has the great advantage of sweeping out any trace of hypocrisy, a very eight attitude in fact.
