My promise means I intend never to lie. That's a lot stronger than my intention to tell the truth. Neither motivation is weak, but the second one isn't an absolute.

True, as in what I believe to be true; I don't say what I believe not to be true. Truth is belief; to believe in something is to believe that it is true. Whenever someone states something that they would call a fact, that person believes that that "fact" is true.

He questioned me because he wanted to prove a point about interpretation of text. However, even if only rhetorically, I don't allow anyone to call me a liar. I don't call other people liars, unless I have a very good reason for it.

That doesn't mean anything. How friendly the post is is determined by its content. If I post a white supremacist rant under the subject "a deep message of love for all mankind," it's still a white supremacist rant. I would call your post neutral, not friendly. For one thing, people who intend to be friendly don't mask who they are; you can't cultivate a relationship (and that's what "friendly" means - in such a manner as to stimulate friendship) if the other person doesn't know who they are talking to.
