all right. humans are mammale, right?
humans are PREDATORY mammals, right? (if you dispute this, look in a biology textbook about selective adaptation and tell me how many of the prey species adaptations we have)
predatory mammals desire to have strong offspring-biological programming intended to keep the species as a whole going.
now, if intelligence is to be selected for, less intelligent mammals will die out. this is a brutal fact you must admit if you even contemplate the theory of evolution. this is an indifferent world, and there are lots of ways for simple little mammals to kill themselves.
so, for the species to become evolutionarily more sound, for the gene pool to be better, "undesirables" MUST be eliminated. or, at least prevented from bearing offspring or, if the cause of the defect was the parents, prevent them from bearing more offspgring.

i know this sounds radical and will probably piss you all off. good. this is a sick and cruel fact of life as we know it. death makes the species stronger. no way to geta round that.

oh well, i did my part today.

ps. downs syndrome is a trisomy mutaation, where a third chromosome is added in the translation phase, not a transposition mutation. for that to happen to an entire chromosome would almost 100% be fatal.
