: Behaviour: I don't like personally interacting with those outside my circle of associates, even for simple things such as purchases (I despise salespeople) or answering the phone when I know it's someone I don't know. I don't like people attempting to influence me, and I often feel frozen trying to respond to someone demanding my attention; I often don't know what to say to make the conversation short, sweet, and comfortable, and I like to have a frame of reference for my thoughts. Otherwise, it takes me too long to respond to what someone is saying.

*That sounds like 5-4 sensitivity and INTP inferior extraverted feeling.

: I don't really fit in with my age group (late teens). I know too many people who are fixated on (what I see as) stupid materialistic things such as trendy clothes, hedonistic partying, or meaningless titles. I don't have a girlfriend, and I have a hard enough time trying to strike up a single conversation of common interest between myself and most members of the opposite sex, let alone spend the majority of my time with a female. Also, I would be very clumsy with a lot of the romanticism a relationship involves.

*Those are four ideals mixed with five social detatchment.

: The people I do interact with are more like acquaintances. I know how to entertain them with absurd ideas and silly humor. I would say that there isn't a great deal of depth to our interactions.

*That sounds more 5-4 than 5-6.

: I'm paradoxically sloppy and reliable. I like to have as much structure as is only necessary. For example, I always turn in assignments on time but I will start them as late as possible to allow them to be completed competently. Also, my living area is messy but I always know where to find something because everything has a place, it's just dropped in an approximate area or stuffed into the right drawer.

*Your organization skills indicate a Perceiving preference. You don't seem to like organization. You're organized out of necessity.

: Thinking/Learning Style: In school, the only courses I likED (since I just graduated) are mathematics and English. This is because both are conceptual and de-emphasize facts as much as possible. I absolutely hate courses like history and biology (one of the "memorizing sciences" as I like to call it). I like putting the pieces together in math to understand a concept, or intepreting the theme of a novel. I also like applying concepts through problem-solving or writing essays. The other courses are usually just about retention.

*Love of facts and info. would be more 5-6. An interest in concepts is more 5-4.

: I don't really consider myself either a verbal or visual learner. I hate crosswords, scrabble, games like jeopardy or anything else that requires a large knowledge of words. However, I think mainly in words. And even though I don't think in images, and I am horrible at tasks like drawing or painting, I have no problem solving visual or spatial questions. The way I solve these problems is often through a fair amount of visualization, and a large amount of analysis.

: The best way to describe my thinking would be by calling it "logical insight." Number sequences/shapes or math puzzles are good manifestations of this type of thinking (at least for me). When solving them, I don't visualize anything or refer to my vocabulary base. I just understand the pattern or situation, and respond appropriately. It's just a process of abstract categorizing and pattern recognition. Whether the patterns are to be visualized or verbalized makes no difference.

*I say you are a 5-4 INTP. The fact that you are introspective enough to write all of this about yourself, you shy away from factual thinking, and you seem to protect your feelings indicates that you have a four wing. Interest in underlying principles instead of facts, lack of true organization, and weak extraverted feeling all indicate INTP.

*Visual/verbal/kinesthetic thinking styles are not related to enneagram type. Posters on this board have falsely associated fives and fives with a four wing with a visual thinking style.

*Here are the key motivations of a five: "Want to be capable and competent, to master a body of knowledge and skill, to explore reality, to remain undisturbed by others, to reduce their needs."

*Here are the key motivations of a four: "Want to be themselves, to express themselves in something beautiful, to find the ideal partner, to withdraw to protect their feelings, to take care of emotional needs before attending to anything else."

*There is no way you can project a tendency toward visual thinking from these inherent characteristics.
