I'm from Michigan originally where Borders is headquartered and I now live in Kansas City now where there are about 3 Borders compared to 5 B&Ns. I think Borders is doing its expansion westward from the Midwest rather than eastward as B&N has a firm foothold. Personally I prefer Borders' selection over B&N but B&N have better coffee shops. Um, enough book talk from me. :)

barnes and noble, tho, that's our book/coffee thing. and i'll bet there'll be a few at whatever grad school i go to. engineering attracts lotsa intellect types. i don't tend to find 54s unapproachable. i did, until i started learning about the egram, and now they're just the most comfortable type in the world to connect with. we really do like being approached. 56es are really the truly standoffish subtype. 54s are drifters, but as long as boundaries aren't being crossed, we love having people come to us. i think maybe that's why i used to find them unapproachable, cause i didn't really understnad how to read the "come over here" signal.

Do you find many more 5w6 females in your classes, isaac? I would think that the subjects you study are more 5w6 subjects than 5w4 ones. Of course there are plenty of 5w4s in engineering and physics, where conceptual thinking is often required but I would think those areas are dominated by 5w6. I would understand not wanting to be around 5w6s as much though as their "nerdiness" is kind of offputting. While I call myself a self-proclaimed "nerd," I don't come across that way to most people. Most people just think I'm weird and don't fit into a category.

I would think you'd find more 5w4 females in humanities. Subjects like history, english literature, philosophy. Foreign language is a good major to find 5w4 females! The intelligent females in social sciences seem to be mostly 1s or 9s, so you might want to stay away from those classes

Yes, I like to be approached by inquisitive or friendly people. I DO NOT like to be approached by confrontational, overly direct people. I love answering questions about the things I enjoy to do when people ask them and getting into intellectual discussions, which I will attempt to do with anybody who is willing to make an effort even if they are intellectual lightweights, as I believe anyone can "think" if they really try. I know if I approached 5w4 females they would be just as open-minded as I am unless they were severely unhealthy, in which case they wouldn't be at a bookstore or coffee shop in the first place. I just don't do it because I usually don't like forcing interactions. I would rather be approached than approach someone else. Since a lot of 5w4s have this attitude I think it's why many of them don't have many friends who are like them enneagram-wise, and especially of their preferred sexual orientation.

: i think that's the strategy to go with. that's how i've met the 54s i DO know. but for some reason female 54s just stay away from computers and physics. doesn't make any sense to me. i mean, you're a 54! it's physics! it's a match made in heaven. music, tho. i bet that'd be the way to go with this. i need to go to more hardcore shows. i got sick of that scene a while ago, but now i need some more metal in my life. and i really gotta get more serious with my band and play gigs. 54s or not, rock stars get mad play. and sex aside, that'd just be so much fun. we're still not really tight, tho. only been playin together a short while. but it'll come.

Of course you'll find plenty of 4s and 7s at these kinds of shows and will have to sift through to find the 5s. 5w4 females could go for anything from hardcore to jazz to world music to classical to basic alternative, so I don't think there is one "scene" which is overrun with 5w4s. The more esoteric and "weird" things you do in life, the more 5w4s you are likely to meet. Hanging out on personality psychology chat boards is just one of those things.
