Fives are not machines. They are human animals, compelled by feelings, instincts, and fears. Some may shout "Logic uber alles!", and claim a completely "rational" orientation, but that's impossible unless
a) One's entire purpose in life is to gather data, crunch numbers, and function as a database.
(Good so far, maybe...)
b) AND, there is ABSOLUTELY NO PRIOR MOTIVATION for this purpose.
Of course, we all know there is a prior motivation for the typical data-gathering, repository-like existence of Fives. Their primary motivation is a type of FEAR, like Sixes and Sevens, the other types in the triad characterized by this human tendency. Specifically, their fear is characterized by FEELINGS of incompetence, of being unprapared to act, of being overwhelmed, and of resource depletion.
