Have you ever smoked before? (tobacco, that is). I mean as an actual habit and not just one of those take a puff and cough deals. It feels good. Second, you look cool in certain environments smoking (coffee shops, clubs, etc). Third, you develop a bond with other smokers around you. Knowing these positives, a 5 might logically consider smoking at some point in his or her life. I know I did when I was in college. Old age was a long way off back then and the only people I knew having problems with lung cancer or emphysema were old people. Health considerations weren't as important. For various reasons I stopped smoking and there has been no reason for me to start up again, so I am a non-smoker now. My point is that it's easy for a 5 to subvert logic however they want in order to get pleasure in their lives. My reasons for smoking may seem stupid to you but they are based on a certain logic. 5s love to think but they don't always think smartly.

: Does it make sense, logically, to put time and energy into a life decision without the belief of a positive outcome?

:
: Example:

: What is the positive outcome of deciding to smoke and develop a nicotine addiction?

: The statistics prove that it has a negative outcome on overall health. Because it makes one feel good or look good to one's friends is irrational.

: Using logic, would this not make smoking an asinine thing?

: It is my understanding that fives use logic to make decisions. So, if there are fives out there who smoke, how do you defend your decision to do so logically?
