: Depends on how you look at it. The more smokers themore business for us Pharmacists considering the various cancers brought on by smoking. It helps the hospital and funeral industry which in turn helps the timber industry (I hope there are no tree guggers here). While it may not be subjectively logical to smoke it is objectively logical as it helps the economy.

: I like your answer. Fueling the economy is an objectively logical answer.
: It's even more interesting that you were able to apply personal gain to this predicament. You have a sense of humor.

: Being that you are a cancer aware pharmacist, I assume you apply subjective logic to yourself and choose not to smoke.

No Im not a smoker. I canrelate to the other post about the bonding aspect. Way back when I was in my 20s my first wife smoked. I guess I tend to be more of a follower than a leader in extroverted situations because I started smoking and enjoyed it. I smoked menthols (Salem) and smoked about apack a day. If you saw old pictures of me with my ex and her young son you could see the pack of cigs in my shirt pocket.Once we separated in 1978 I just dropped the habit.
Of course you have to realize living in Southern cal there are people who get lung cancer who havent smoked a day in their lives. I remember one such person when I owned my own Pharmacy assuming she was telling the truth which Im sure she was. Im sure anyone living in the La area away from the beach "smokes" a pack a day without puffing
