It also gave me some extra self motivational power - if I can't force myself to do something, that's because I don't want to (this is not always obvious). Knowing that, I can then look through myself to find what I dislike, and that makes it easy to discard the dislike and do the action. I have had a BIG problem with amotivation through my entire life, to the point of sitting staring at the wall for hours trying to force myself to work on homework but finally resorting to setting my alarm clock to 3 or 4 in the morning and using excessive stress to force myself to work(I am in high school), so that's a boost I REALLY needed.
