Sure, there are women (and men!) like that, but there are many more who are not. I have recently found a group of women to hang out with who are very tolerant of my need to sometimes withdraw and isolate. They just leave me alone when I do it and talk to each other instead. I am very grateful not to be judged for this... it's kept me active with them when I otherwise would cancel social engagements. I've also found that doing something active (ie, this gang is made up of very athletic women: we mountain bike, run, backpack and hike together) really helps social events from becoming awkward for me. Just a few thoughts...
