I am a five with a strong six wing. In answer to your question, I would definitely show someone how to help themself. Rescuing them would only bring attention to me and by recuing them, they have not learned how to get out of the struggle, so chances are you'd have to continue to rescue them. I don't know about other fives, but "needy people" are one of my biggest pet-pieves!
