": "oh, but look at what i've done for you??(with crying eyes)" I've never really found this position concincing. That MANY people perform supposedly unshelfish acts from a selfish position does not mean that ALL such acts are done selfishly. All that is needed is to find one example to prove the negative assumption (to prove it wrong). I will agree however that the majority of what parades as philanthropy (or what not) may well be merely unhealthy relationships or expoitation. ": this is clearly seen as a part of the 5 mentality, i feel." Please explain. "it's most effecient to let others take care of themselves, and takes less away from my self-reliance." But there are certainly times when people can not take care of themselves. A person in an accident presents immediate and long term example. I am also not sure why it takes away from YOUR self-relience. It may, if it is an unhealthy relationship, but again, all need not be. "i think it's also interesting that 5s tend to get along great with 7s (it seems every five i meet comes equiped with one)" I think my wife is a 7, but I'm not sure. Are 7's harder to type than others? "but tend to be wholly unimpressed by 2s" wracking my brain, trying to think of a 2. :)
This is true, and again I think it can be undertaken in a healthy or unhealthy way. Peoples streghts and weaknesses are always connected. It is a matter of moving to strenght (or healthy) from weakness or unhealhty. "society values teh caretaker unconditionally becasue society is stupid." I'll agree that society is stupid, but I do not think the value is unconditional. It is wrapped in a welter of inconsistency, that is the problem. "society doesn't value the empoweror nearly as much." I really question the notion of the empoweror. If you can grant a true empoweror, it seems you need to grant a true cartaker, otherwise what is empowering? What is called empowering in this society is quite simply rapaciousness. :)
