Enneagram Type 5 Board Archive Person based on superstitionPosted by Aristotle on September 16, 2000 at 08:44:01: In Reply to: Personhood posted by isaacthe54 on September 10, 2000 at 05:24:19: A person is any entity that has properties unique to itself that arise from subjective elements embedded in its own construction such as feelings that allow it to have a value system than is not wholely deterministic of but independant from the environment. Basically any complex self-sustaining mechanism that reacts not only to the environment but its own internal apparatus in a way that cannot be replicated artificially. But I confess this explanation is a load of polymethylene based on an erroneous interpretation of language derivative of the assumed spiritualistic properties of humanity for which no evidence exists but our own unwillingness to accept a logically non-logic conclusion. Accept the answer above if you want to believe in magic - a person is only what we want one to be.
